Caylee Anthony is the latest high profile child kidnapping of the past decade and with the pattern of arrests involving her mother and some key players including an anonymous benefactor who recently bailed her out of jail with $500,000 investigators in Orlando, Florida are n closer to coming to a conclusion.
Caylee’s Timeline
June 18th is the first day anything suspicious is reported about Caylee’s mother Casey Anthony. Neighbors said she backed her car into her driveway—something which was highly unusual. She also borrowed a shovel from a neighbor the same day.
June 24th is the next most important date when Casey showed resistance toward allowing her father George to get something out of the trunk of her car. Her father reportedly found some gas cans that he had thought were stolen from the garage in the trunk.
Casey abandoned the car at a check cashing business on June 27th and it was towed from the business on June 30th. Her parents hadn’t heard from Casey for several days when they received notice of a registered letter being sent to them stating that their car had been towed. This was when they decided to look for Casey.
Cindy Anthony, Casey’s mother, found her and questioned her about Caylee. When Casey does not answer right away she makes a series of three 911 calls stating that she wished her daughter to be arrested.
Where is Caylee?
For some months there was speculation by the media, investigators and even Caylee’s grandparents whether or not Caylee was still alive. But on September, 1st 2008 the Orange County Sherrif’s office issued a statement saying that “There is a strong possibility Caylee is deceased.”
Caylee’s mother Casey has been arrested under charges of lying to investigators and passing fake checks among a number of other things but has yet to be arrested under official murder charges. A report released by CNN on August 27, 2008 stated that Casey Anthony attempted to give her daughter up for adoption before she was born but that her mother Cindy would not allow it.
Most recently in a report released on September, 4th 2008 investigators reported lab findings of the chemical Chloroform being present in the trunk of the car that was towed on June 27th. CNN also reports that Casey Anthony was released from jail on September, 5th. This was the second time she was released in the fifteen day period between August 22nd and September 5th.
